» Son of Rambow (2008)
Directed by: Garth Jennings
Written by: Garth Jennings
Notable Cast Members: Will Poulter, Bill Milner, Adam
Godley
Set on a long English summer in the early 80's, Son of
Rambow is a comedy about friendship, faith and the tough
business of growing up. We see the story through the
eyes of Will, the eldest son of a fatherless Plymouth
Brethren family. The Brethren regard themselves as God's
'chosen ones' and their strict moral code means that
Will has never been allowed to mix with the other 'worldlies,'
listen to music or watch TV, until he finds himself
caught up in the extraordinary world of Lee Carter, the
school terror and maker of bizarre home movies. Carter
exposes Will to a pirate copy of Rambo: First Blood and
from that moment Will's mind is blown wide open and he's
easily convinced to be the stuntman in Lee Carters'
diabolical home movie. Will's imaginative little brain
is not only given chance to flourish in the world of
film making, but is also very handy when it comes to
dreaming up elaborate schemes to keep his partnership
with Lee Carter a secret from the Brethren community.
Will and Carter's complete disregard for consequences
and innocent ambition means that the process of making
their film is a glorious rollercoaster that eventually
leads to true friendship. They start to make a name for
themselves at school as movie makers but when popularity
descends on them in the form of the Pied Piper-esque
French exchange student, Didier Revol, their unique
friendship and their precious film are pushed, quite
literally, to breaking point
» 100 Feet (2008)
Directed by: Eric Red
Written by: Eric Red
Notable Cast Members: Famke Janssen, Bobby Cannavale,
Michael Paré
A young woman, Marnie Watson, is granted early release
from her prison sentence for manslaughter (killing her
husband - a violent NYC cop - in self defense) on
condition she wear an electronic ankle bracelet and
remain within her home, effectively under house arrest,
for the remainder of her sentence. Her late husband's
partner keeps tabs on her from a patrol car parked
across the street, hoping she'll violate probation and
he can send her back to prison. But the 100-foot radius
her ankle bracelet allows isn't the worst of her
problems. Her dead husband --now a malevolent ghost--is
still in the house, where he died -- intent on savage
revenge

these talents to steal expensive electronics
(TVs, laptops etc). Ed appears in several
scenes throughout the film with Rafi, In
addition there are two deleted scenes on the
DVD that feature Ed.
Synopsis
Will is a partner in a thriving landscape
architecture firm which he runs with his
friend, Sandy. Professionally, things could
not be better but Will spends less and less
time at home with his beautiful, melancholy
partner, Liv, and her troubled 13 year-old
daughter, Bea. Will’s office has recently
relocated to King’s Cross, the centre of
Europe’s most ambitious urban regeneration
site and their state-of-the-art studio
repeatedly attracts the attention of a local
gang of thieves. After one of the break-ins,
Will follows teenaged parkour enthusiast
Miro back to the apartment he shares with
his mother, Amira, a Bosnian refugee. With
his relationship already in crisis, Will
embarks on a passionate journey into both
the wilder side of himself and the city in
which he lives. |
